According to Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), many of the people who opposed Siminalayi Fubara’s appointment as governor of Rivers State are now lining up around him and stealing his money.
According to reports, Wike said this in a conversation with reporters in Abuja on Wednesday, claiming that the Ijaw people in Rivers State were not grateful for his thoughtful gesture.
Wike, the former governor of Rivers State, said that because Fubara hails from Opobo, the “original” Ijaw people, including the Kalabaris, rebelled against him and forced him to resign as governor.
According to the Minister, those who opposed Fubara’s selection said that the Opobo people weren’t considered to be true Ijaw people, but he permitted it out of kindness.

“We permitted it out of our own kindness,” he stated. Gentlemen, we are working together, I said.

“You appreciate it when someone does something to unite everyone. When I purchased this governor, they actually told me that if I wanted to give it to the Ijaws instead of the Opobo, it should go to the Kalabaris. Do you see the issue?

However, you succeeded after closing your eyes. Everyone who opposed me and said, “No, we can’t accept this,” is now swarming around him, hanging out with him, and stealing his money.
