Nasarawa State Governor, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, has dismissed claims that he has an anointed candidate for the 2027 governorship election.
Speaking through his Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs, Mr. Peter Ahemba, at a media briefing at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) secretariat in Lafia, the governor described the rumors as false and baseless.
He emphasized that the decision on who will become the next governor rests with the people of Nasarawa, urging the public to disregard any claims of government-backed candidates.
Governor Sule warned that any political appointee fueling such speculations was engaging in insubordination and would not be tolerated.
He called on aspirants within his administration to focus on governance and wait for the appropriate time to declare their ambitions.
The governor reaffirmed his commitment to delivering democratic dividends in the remaining two years of his tenure.
Highlighting ongoing projects, he mentioned key infrastructure developments, including the Lafia Flyover and Underpass, the Akwanga project, and the proposed Keffi Flyover.
He urged residents to continue supporting his administration as it works to improve their standard of living.
