It Is Laughable To Say There Is Progress In Nigeria Today – Ologbondiyan Knocks Tinubu’s Govt

Kola Ologbondiyan, a former national publicity secretary for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has said that accusations of advancement under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) are absurd.
He made this statement in response to recent APC defections on Wednesday when he spoke on Channels Television.
According to Ologbondiyan, the APC has exacerbated political division, especially during the current administration.

“Anyone who looks at Nigeria today and says there is progressive governance is unfortunate; it’s laughable,” he remarked. What’s going on in Edo is hilarious.

The degree of political turbulence and divisiveness displayed by the Tinubu administration is alarming. In the very polarizing political environment we currently live in, parties now boldly assert their exclusive control over political space, begs the question, “What if the opposition starts?”

Many Nigerians are just putting up with the existing situation while waiting for the next election, the former spokesperson said, highlighting the rising dissatisfaction in the country.

Nigerians simply wait until 2027, if you measure the country’s mood. There are even those who have called the president an OTP, or one-term president. In 2027, we need to make sure that elections are free of errors that don’t affect the choice of president,” he continued.

He continued by expressing his profound concern about the internal situation inside his party and asserting that the PDP cannot advance under Ambassador Umar Damagum, who is now serving as acting chairman.

The reality that there is instability inside the PDP is something I would not deny. “The party will not advance as long as Ambassador Umar Damagum is still the acting chairman,” he said.
