Ali Isa, the House of Representatives’ Minority Whip, has denounced President Bola Tinubu’s focus on politics for 2027 rather than governance.
According to reports, a politician from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) pointed out that Nigerians are hungry and insecure, but the president would rather focus on winning a second term.
The legislator for Gombe State’s Balanga/Billiri Federal Constituency said that ensuring citizens’ safety and well-being continues to be the top priority for all governments, including President Tinubu’s.

During Wednesday’s plenary, Isa said that the president had given up the two crucial responsibilities of any government in favor of political maneuvering.
He informed Speaker Tajudeen Abbas that the House must stand up and make sure the President protects the residents’ property and life.

“Providing security is the current government’s main duty. Additionally, give all Nigerians a good life. I want to use this platform to urge the government and the president to implement significant security and welfare measures and to focus more on these issues than on politics.

“I stand to make an appeal, Mr. Speaker. Let the government do what is right and make sure Nigerians are safe,” he urged.
