Following the recent attack on the Yelewata community in Guma local government by suspected herdsmen, Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun arrived in Benue State on Monday.
This was revealed by the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) in a post on 𝕏, according to Naija News.

The IGP issued an order for more tactical teams to be sent to the North-Central state.

On President Bola Tinubu’s orders, additional security chiefs have arrived in Benue State to help halt the state’s rampant insecurity.

Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, announced this development in a statement on Sunday.

Onanuga pointed out that in order to establish enduring peace and security in Benue State, the President instructed the security chiefs to carry out his previous directive.

Following the most recent wave of retaliatory attacks that claimed the lives of roughly 200 individuals, President Tinubu reportedly extended his decree.
