Adamu Garba, a former All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, has claimed that the people no longer trusts the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
According to reports, Garba mentioned this in an interview for AIT’s Focus Nigeria show.
According to the APC chieftain, the PDP is now more like a cucumber than an Iroko tree.
Garba claims that the PDP is in a state of self-destruction and that it will fail to do anything in the 2027 election.
He stated that a tree’s metaphor can be used to determine whether a party or a society is expanding. You start with roots, grow and produce fruits, drop seeds, and then grow again.
“But now that all the branches have dried up and the leaves have fallen, they are returning to the roots once more.”
An Iroko tree can live for 100 years, but since PDP is no longer around, I believe it to be a cucumber.
“I don’t want to classify the PDP in any way for the upcoming 2027 election because, as far as I know, they have lost the public’s trust.
“The PDP members are to blame for the party’s self-destruction. There is a lot of misunderstanding within the PDP, as seen by the internal problems during their most recent convention and the dispute between the FCT Minister and the former vice president who attended.
“They are now organizing themselves in a nostalgic mode to replay the game of 1998, 1999, and see if they will ever survive because they truly caused their own destruction.”
