Oshiomhole: Peter Obi Owes Authorities Courtesy Notice Before Visiting Edo – It’s About Self-Respect
Adams Oshiomhole, the lawmaker for Edo North, has backed Governor Monday Okpebholo’s insistence that Peter Obi, the former presidential candidate, obtain security clearance prior to his visit to Edo State.
According to reports, Okpebholo had cautioned Obi against entering the state without first obtaining security clearance, tying the former presidential candidate’s most recent visit to a security lapse that reportedly claimed three lives.
Oshiomhole expressed his opinions about the governor’s warning on Prime Time, an Arise Television program, on Friday. He said that Obi should have informed Okpebholo before his visit out of self-respect and decency.
He maintained that when public figures like Obi intend to visit a state, it is critical to notify the appropriate authorities.

The state government provides all funding and maintenance for the aforementioned school, which Obi is anticipated to visit, the former governor of Edo noted.
The Edo state governor is entrusted with the property of the Edo state government, let’s face it. Informing the authorities is a question of decency and self-respect if anyone, including myself, travels to Enugu or Anambra during Obi’s tenure as governor and want to visit a government-owned establishment, such as a nursing home.
“I worked with Peter Obi, and we were very familiar with one another. We disagree ideologically, but I still like him as I did back then. On some issues, I disagree with him,” Oshiomhole stated.
