Northern Christian Leaders Hail Tinubu, Support Prof. Yilwatda for APC Chairmanship

After the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was held in Abuja, the Arewa Christian Youth Leadership Forum (ACYLF) congratulated Professor Nentawe Yilwatda on his election as the party’s National Chairman.

The group celebrated Yilwatda’s appointment as a watershed in the political inclusion of Northern Christians and a strategic turning point for the ruling party, calling him a “distinguished technocrat, patriot, and proud son of Plateau State ”.

“A wealth of experience, innovation, and generational insight” is brought to the leadership of the APC by Professor Yilwatda, a digital governance specialist and former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, according to a statement signed by ACYLF’s National Chairman, Dunijir Gatama.

The statement continues, “This appointment is a bold and strategic recalibration of leadership within the APC that goes beyond a simple political reshuffle.” The statement highlights President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s visionary leadership and his determination to modernize the party by bringing in capable, young, and forward-thinking leaders.

The opportunity was also taken by ACYLF to praise President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his concerted efforts to promote religious balance and national integration in federal appointments.

Professor Yilwatda’s rise further demonstrates the President’s commitment to inclusive governance, the group underlined, citing the prior appointments of General Christopher Musa as Chief of Defense Staff and Senator George Akume as Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).

The group said, “These appointments are historic for our community and have restored faith and hope in the democratic process.” “They convey a strong and unambiguous message that minority voices, especially those of Northern Christians, are significant to the Nigerian project and are not only acknowledged.”
