Over 100 terrorists were killed by the Nigerian military in a combined air and ground attack on Makakkari Forest in Bukuyum Local Government Area, Zamfara State, dealing a serious blow to armed bandits in the north.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama revealed the information in a post under his X handle.
The article claims that Nigerian Air Force jets launched the operation early on Sunday, hitting bandit sites located by reconnaissance drones. Ground forces moved in at the same time, demolishing motorcycles and breaking up the bandits’ hideout.
Over 400 armed combatants, under the leadership of infamous kingpins, had assembled in Makakkari Forest, according to intelligence obtained by Operation FANSAN YANMA. Nasarawan Burkullu, a local farming settlement, was their target.

According to reports, the bandits organized the operation in order to regroup and exact revenge following a recent security forces failure. But they were caught in a prearranged trap.
Zagazola was informed by sources that many of the leading bandit leaders were murdered before they could react, and that ground forces stopped those who attempted to escape.
Close coordination between air and ground elements was credited with the operation’s success.
Operation FANSAN YANMA has promised to keep up the pressure on criminal organizations and the people who assist them.
“Banditry thrives on impunity and fear.” One operation at a time, we are demolishing both,” the sources stated.
