The Africa Democratic Congress (ADC) opposition group, according to former Sokoto State governor Aminu Tambuwal, is focused on saving Nigeria rather than advancing a specific candidate’s bid for president.
Shortly after being greeted by a resounding wave of supporters in Sokoto, Tambuwal made a commitment that the coalition will soon present a comprehensive policy program that would address insecurity, boost the economy, and enhance the welfare of its constituents.
Insecurity, the economy, and the well-being of Nigerians have not been addressed by the All Progressives Congress-led government, he bemoaned, calling governance “human faceless.”
“I am still dedicated to democracy, the rule of law, and good governance,” he declared. I cannot be forced to renounce these values by any authority. I quit the APC in 2018 because I believe that what is happening in our country is wrong. Now I am even more aware of the reasons I left.
He claimed that in spite of the President’s authority, no meaningful action has been taken, such as hiring more security guards.
Tambuwal responded, “This coalition is not about any individual,” in response to assertions that it is being formed to further Atiku Abubakar’s goals. The goal is to save Nigeria. Together, the PDP, Labour Party, NNPP, and other political parties are providing Nigerians with a viable choice.
Regarding the removal of fuel subsidies, Tambuwal noted that he was against any sudden cutoff without compensating measures.
“As Speaker, I cautioned against cutting subsidies without a system in place to safeguard the populace. Nigerians are bearing the cost of its unilateral removal.
The senator assured that the alliance would provide a government model based on competence, accountability, and compassion, and he asked Nigerians to band together behind leaders dedicated to genuine reform.
