Among the 28 candidates vying for the Nasarawa State governorship ticket from the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has declared that God has not revealed who will succeed him.
However, he said he would make sure whoever succeeded him would fulfill their responsibilities.
During a solidarity visit to Government House on Thursday, Sule made the statements while welcoming members of the Forum of Former Local Government Chairmen and members of the Forum of Former Local Government Councillors.
He remarked, “Perhaps the governor hasn’t even begun yet.” It’s also feasible. However, people can tell that I genuinely care about each and every one of them, and I’m working to find someone who can continue this state the way we now do.
The governor denied rumors that he is supporting a specific candidate, emphasizing that he has not yet chosen which of the candidates to back.
“I’m speaking to you. Whoever has the ability to provide these opportunities will have my support. God hasn’t yet revealed who that person is, at least not to me. Every one of them is a friend of mine, and I encourage them all to run.
Ten of them came and unambiguously backed me during the period in 2019 when eleven of us ran for office. For that, I will always be thankful to them,” he remarked.
The governor added that Nasarawa State has a lot of potential and that he would only back the candidate who could capitalize on these opportunities. He stated that he would only back the candidate who could maintain the development progress made by his government.

“We are making fantastic progress for the future, but we have done the least we can. Even if the president sends someone to commission the largest lithium processing plant in Africa, we are still waiting for him to specify which day he would choose. This is true for the majority of these organizations.
We have created a chance for the state to have a higher IGR as soon as he accomplishes it. We will continue to open when investors arrive since Nasarawa offers a plethora of chances.
“From there, we can proceed to Riri. The upcoming massive complex, Riri, is situated in Deddere. They have already begun the construction procedure. After that, we’ll examine Amba, which comes next. We are moving in those directions.
“I will be unable to be present while all of things are being completed. With God’s blessing, I pray that whoever succeeds me will be able to continue leading the state to create ever-greater opportunities.

They have stated that it is Senator Wadada at one point, the Accountant General of the State at another, and Dr. Faisal Shuaib at a yet other time.
