Tension Rises in Boko Haram Camp Amid Ongoing Military Bombardments

Following repeated bombings on their hideouts in Borno State’s Gwoza Local Government Area, reports have surfaced showing an increase in anxiety among Boko Haram fighters.
According to reports, rebel camps in Gobara and Balangaje, which are near Sambisa Forest, were recently bombarded by Nigerian military fighter jets, resulting in the destruction of multiple structures.

Three key Boko Haram commanders, Mustafa, Ba Bunu, and Awana Kura, were reportedly killed in the strikes, which terrified combatants, women, and children in the impacted enclaves.

According to reports, Bakura (also known as Weeze), a senior Boko Haram commander, was told by Modu Kunduli that the group’s fighters and leadership were uneasy due to the continuous airstrikes.

After NAF jets were spotted over the Garkida and Gombi districts, Bakura, who works in the Kwajaffa–Ngabur village area of Hawul LGA, reportedly acknowledged that his fighters had similar worries.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama said that intelligence also showed that Boko Haram members were thinking about withdrawing to their refuge in Ngulde, Askira/Uba LGA, while they awaited additional orders from their leader.

According to security officials, troops have been put on high alert to keep an eye on any potential insurgent movement as the organization looks for safer areas to avoid aircraft bombing.
