Adeleke Refutes Defection Claims, Says He Remains in PDP

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has denied rumors that he is joining the African Democratic Congress, or ADC.

Olawale Rasheed, the governor’s spokesperson, made this statement public on Wednesday.

He insisted that he is staying with the Peoples Democratic Party, or PDP, and said that the rumor was intended to mislead the public by those who are afraid of his popularity.

The governor also reaffirmed his intention to run for governor in the 2026 PDP election, emphasizing that the party is actively organizing to make his reelection a reality.

The people should ignore the rumors, he urged.

A claim that Governor Ademola Adeleke intends to join the African Democratic Congress, or ADC, has caught our attention.

In addition to being false, the claim is a deliberate attempt by individuals who fear the governor’s increasing popularity to sow doubt and confusion among Osun State residents.

The statement stated, “We would like to restate for the nth time that Governor Adeleke is still fully committed to the Peoples Democratic Party, or PDP, and has no intention of joining the ADC or any other party for that matter.”
