Nentawe Yilwatda, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has bragged that no Nigerian politician intimidates the party.
He claimed that even if former President Goodluck Jonathan runs a successful campaign, his prospects of winning are ruined if he doesn’t run on a strong platform.
According to him, the ruling party’s engine is sufficiently lubricated and prepared to win the election.
He denied that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition was a threat when addressing reporters on a Jos radio show.
According to him, no name has the power to frighten the APC or serve as a source of intimidation or menace to the party.
According to Yilwatda, the coalition was dead on arrival because it only existed, at most, in local areas rather than nationally.
He declared, “As it stands right now, the APC is ready to win an election and is not afraid of any name in Nigeria.” The problem of discussing a person’s name while discussing the party is resolved because our engines and machinery are well-maintained and ready to win elections with a resounding victory. As you are aware, you need a vehicle to transport you. Even if you don’t have a nice car to transport you to a reception, you can still look your best. On the road, the vehicle will break down. Which car will transport Jonathan? Is it ADC? Is PDP involved?
“There is no national opposition; the opposition as it exists today only exists in pockets within states and localities. None of the opposition parties were able to secure a single seat in the north during the most recent rerun election, and the same was true in the South-South and South-East, indicating the limits of their power.
He praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his political sagacity and strength, noting that the merger in 2014 was able to endure because the president has been exhibiting maturity throughout his political career.
According to him, “people did not give Asiwaju enough credit when there was a coalition in 2013.” Despite not running for president, he was the focal point of the alliance and performed a fatherly role. His house served as a gathering place for all the contenders, despite his lack of enthusiasm. Without turning back or making any requests, he invested his money and saw the collaboration through to its conclusion.
“Everyone entering the alliance today is searching for the ticket; there is no primary figurehead or focal point. The coalition is doomed from the start because no one is willing to make sacrifices and you believe it will succeed.
