NAF Airstrikes Eliminate 25 Terrorists in Yobe, Borno Overnight

More than 25 terrorists were killed in a coordinated nighttime airstrike in Bula, Yobe State, and the Banki axis of Borno State, according to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF).
This was revealed in a statement released in Abuja on Saturday by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the NAF’s Director of Public Relations and Information.

According to Ejodame, the September 18 operations were conducted in response to reliable ground soldiers’ intelligence on terrorist activity in the region.

He clarified that a force package consisting of strike aircraft and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) assets followed the targets and located other terrorist organizations north of Banki.

He said that a coordinated offensive was made possible by the real-time updates that were communicated to base operations and ground units.

More than 25 combatants were successfully neutralized when the strike aircraft launched three consecutive precision strikes on the terrorists’ gathering places and routes of movement.

“No additional threats were observed, and post-strike surveillance confirmed ground forces remained in defensive positions,” Ejodame stated.

The operation showed the Air Force’s steadfast dedication to assisting ground forces and protecting Nigeria’s northeast, the NAF spokesperson emphasized.

He claimed that in addition to denying terrorists their freedom of movement, the mission demonstrated NAF’s determination to keep up the pressure on criminal organizations that pose a threat to the area.
