Labour Party Urges Jonathan to Align With Nigerians’ Aspirations

In regards to the 2027 presidency, the Labour Party (LP) has urged former President Goodluck Jonathan to take into account the wishes of the vast majority of Nigerians.
According to reports, several political elites and fans of Peter Obi, the LP’s 2023 presidential candidate, have encouraged Jonathan to resign in favor of the former governor of Anambra State, amid rumors that he would return to active politics in 2027.

In response to queries in an interview on Arise Television on Friday, Tony Akeni, the LP’s Interim National Publicity Secretary, endorsed the demand and urged Jonathan to think about what the vast majority of Nigerians had decided to do with their lives.

Goodluck Jonathan and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar ought to embrace the reorientation that Peter Obi is advocating, according to Akeni.

“We are appealing to former President Jonathan to take into consideration what the majority of Nigerians have given their hearts to pursue,” he said, adding that it is the third leg of our petition.

This is the presidency of a younger individual from the younger generation who has a track record of honesty, character, and consistency that appeals to the majority of Nigerians.

“The majority of Nigerians have accepted a president run by a younger individual who appeals to them.

“We need Atiku Abubakar and Goodluck Jonathan to acknowledge that a change in direction is necessary more urgently.”
