Atu Terver, Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia’s Principal Special Assistant on Youth and Media Mobilization, has responded to a claim made against him by Martin Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, VDM, a social media critic and activist.
In a video that was uploaded to his Facebook page on Friday, VDM claimed that a car dealer vanished following a N1.2 billion deal with the Benue government.
The critic claims that the Benue government bought nine cars from the purportedly missing vendor for N1.2 billion but never paid for them.
“To the Benue State executive governor, the car dealer for whom your government owes 1.2 billion naira for nine vehicles that your government seized appears to have vanished.”
When we last spoke, he informed me that he had been summoned to a meeting at an Abuja hotel by one of your cabinet members.
“Rev. Fr. Alia, please release him if you are holding him. On his Facebook page, VDM captioned a viral video with the words, “What is his crime?”
Atu, also known as Krayzeetee, refuted the suggestion of kidnapping in a comment beneath the post, stating that the governor could not “stoop as low as abducting someone.”
“Many things here don’t really add up, but it’s dragging a governor, so many people won’t think like me,” he wrote.
“You mentioned that a cabinet member called him; is there a name for the cabinet member? What about the phone number he dialed?
You mentioned the previous day that he was being told to pay money by other government officials without even naming them.
“I believe Ahmed Isah of the Berekete family has a lot to teach you. He would have at least tried to get in touch with the governor if he had been informed about this instance, but he didn’t. You can proceed as long as it will increase traffic and generate a lot of negative comments on the governor.
“Governor Alia is a godly man who cannot descend to such a low level as kidnapping someone.” When pursuing justice, you should always speak with both sides before taking any action.
“Let me give you some advice,” I said. You don’t be God, you followers.
