As Nigeria celebrates its 65th anniversary of independence, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, PhD, CFR, has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and all Nigerians.
In a statement commemorating the achievement, Kalu urged people to reaffirm their commitment to the nation and to the shared goal of creating a prosperous and forward-thinking nation.
The Deputy Speaker considered Nigeria’s six-and-a-half decades of nationhood in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Levinus Nwabughiogu. He acknowledged the challenges the country has encountered but expressed strong hope for a better future.
He emphasized the significance of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, calling it a plan that reflects the people’s common goals for a more powerful, cohesive, and wealthy Nigeria. Kalu also exhorted Nigerians to embrace cooperation, solidarity, and patience in order to harness the resilience and variety of the nation to promote sustainable development.
He asserts that the Renewed Hope vision is a catalyst for collective action as well as a framework for policies, one that will guarantee the prosperity of all Nigerians and the fulfillment of the aspirations of the nation’s founding fathers.
Assuring that the National Assembly is still dedicated to passing people-focused legislation that will advance the growth and development of the country, the Deputy Speaker also reaffirmed his commitment to public service and legislative duty.
“We take time to reflect on our nation’s journey, its many accomplishments, and the challenges that have shaped us as we celebrate Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary,” Kalu stated. This historic event serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by our forefathers and the ongoing work necessary to create the Nigeria we have always imagined.
“As a representative of the people, I am steadfastly committed to using excellent legislation and devoted service to advance our country.
“I wholeheartedly support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which embodies our shared vision for a country where opportunities abound, people thrive, and Nigeria regains its rightful place in the international community. It is a strong call for us to come together, embrace our differences, and work resolutely toward a common future.
As we commemorate this momentous day, let us renew our optimism, fortify our determination, and keep cooperating to create a Nigeria that embodies the principles of our founding fathers. We shall accomplish greatness together.
“Happy 65th Anniversary of Independence! May God bless our dear nation and lead us to a future rooted in harmony, advancement, and hope.
