President Bola Tinubu has received praise from Dangote Petroleum Refinery for his “timely and decisive intervention” in stopping the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) from taking planned disruptive action against the company.
Tinubu’s leadership, through key ministers and security personnel, brought stability to the energy industry “at a critical moment,” the business said in a statement on Saturday.
The firm expressed its gratitude to President HE Bola Tinubu, GCFR, of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, for his intervention through his ministers and top officials, which led to the reduction of PENGASSAN’s disruptive measures against the refinery.
According to the refinery, security chiefs were instrumental in reducing tensions.
According to the business, Nigeria’s security chiefs, under the leadership of national security advisor Nuhu Ribadu, were the main government representatives who “worked tirelessly to restore normalcy.”
Mohammed Mohammed, the director-general of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), and Adeola Toyin Ajayi, the director-general of the Department of State Services (DSS), are also involved.
Additionally, the Dangote refinery recognized the “untiring efforts” of high-ranking government officials who, according to the company, worked through the night to avert a more serious crisis in the energy sector.
For their patriotism and national service, the refinery expressed its gratitude to the Hon. Minister of Labor and Employment, Dr. Mohammed Dingyadi; the Hon. Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun; the Hon. Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Bagudu; and the Hon. Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha.
Nigerians’ “overwhelming support” amid the industrial tension was also acknowledged by the corporation.
“Your unwavering and humble support for our noble cause was truly inspiring. The company stated, “We heard your voices and words of encouragement in all Nigerian street corners and media channels.”
“You gave us hope and strengthened our conviction that the Nigerian people are the foundation of our business.”
The business also hailed its employees as “the strength of the Dangote Group” for continuing to operate in spite of “provocations.”
“We are grateful to our devoted employees who made sure that our business operations were not even briefly interrupted. Despite provocative orders from critics, you shown your loyalty to our cause,” the Dangote refinery added.
“FAIR EMPLOYMENT IS WHAT WE REMAIN COMMITTED TO.”
The business reaffirmed its commitment to fair work practices and the expansion of the national economy, reaffirming its status as a significant private employer.
According to the organization, “The Dangote Group is acknowledged as one of Nigeria’s leading employers of labor and the biggest contributor to tax revenues from the private sector.”
“Our pay structure is intended to safeguard worker welfare and preserve dignity in the workplace, and it is measured against global norms.”
The judiciary was also praised by Dangote Refinery for “standing firm in defence of the rule of law” in the face of attempts to interfere with its business operations.
The refinery further stated that “despite intimidation from those who refused to accept valid court orders, the judiciary came to society’s rescue at our critical moment of need.”
The business reaffirmed its dedication to industrial stability and national service, calling it “undiminished and unalterable.”
