Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, a preacher from Aduna, claims that terrorists who kill, maim, and abduct innocent people for ransom are “listening and reasonable human beings” who ought to be subdued rather than put to death.
Since terrorists are humans, I’ve been attempting to figure out how to calm them down and reroute them. In an interview with VOP TV, Mr. Gumi stated, “They listen and reason, but if you say you want to use force against force, then you will compound the problem and make the thing dirty.”
The Islamic cleric, who supports amnesty for bandits wreaking havoc in the nation, claimed that because the U.S. army has failed in Afghanistan and Syria, it is unable to battle terrorists and bandits terrorizing Nigeria.
“I will welcome the U.S. army if they can cure and eradicate the terrorists.” I know they can’t, though. Despite fighting in Afghanistan for 20 years, they were unable to defeat them. It’s the same thing in Syria now,” Mr. Gumi thought.
“You see, these terrorists have infiltrated society, so it is not easy to come and drop bombs here and there and think you will finish them,” the Islamic cleric continued. There will be more harm from it. If the United States fires a bomb in Nigeria, more Muslims and Christians will perish.
Following Mr. Trump’s designation of Nigeria as a Country of Particular Concern due to allegations of Christian genocide and his threat to invade Nigeria in order to eradicate terrorists who kill Christians, Mr. Gumi’s remark humanizes terrorists and bandits.
Over ten years of terror in the Northeast, Boko Haram terrorists have killed hundreds of thousands of people, abducted hundreds of pupils, and forced over three million people to flee their homes.
In 2014, the terrorist organization became well-known throughout the world after abducting roughly 276 schoolgirls from the Chibok hamlet in Borno.
