Regina Daniels, a well-known Nollywood actress, has pleaded with Nigerians to refrain from disparaging her mother Rita Daniels due to her marital problems.
According to reports, Regina’s family has accused her separated husband Ned Nwoko of detaining her brother and threatening to keep him there until she chooses to return home and seek treatment.
A widely shared video of the actress screaming that her spouse was abusing her caused a wedge between the two.
Nwoko, however, insisted that his wife was a heroin addict and denied abusing her.
Regina’s mother has been accused by some online users for allowing her to wed the congressman.
In a video posted to her Instagram page, the actress addressed the matter and said that her mother was not to blame for her choice.
She claims that although her family advised her against marrying Nwoko, she disregarded their advice since she was in love.
The mother of two claimed that when her family attempted to prevent her from marrying the billionaire, she ran away from home in the middle of the night.
“Please stop insulting my mom is actually the main essence of this video,” she stated.
“Hey, stop it, Biko. Hey, Biko, please stop. Look, I genuinely feel like I owe you all an explanation for some reason.
“You understand why? Because I have no idea why everyone is upset about my life. However, I don’t think any of you are in pain. You’re upset because you spent your money—was it 200 or 500 Naira—to get my CD so you could all see my movie when you were kids.
“Oh, I’m grateful. Alright, it’s alright. It’s okay since I’m in the spotlight.
It’s OK since everyone has a voice. I’m explaining because of this. So please, don’t make fun of my mother.
“The best thing that has ever happened to me is her.” On earth, she is my deity.
She is strong, I see. For seven fucking years. Watch this video, kids. My mother kept it down for seven years.
“She made an effort. She tried, but you all insulted her. She made an effort.
“It’s me. It’s me. The head of Issy Coconut.
“It’s me. I’m embarrassed to admit that I fell in love. Type shit.
However, I truly did. And what I did was absurd. Everyone declined.
“My mother, huh? Now hurry up. And quit claiming that my marriage was motivated by greed. I apologize.
“No, we weren’t broke. Does that make sense? Second, what are your thoughts? For example, how much money can a guy pay a mother to buy her child, who is essentially taking care of the entire household? That is practically… She trained all of her children through this youngster. Through this youngster, for example.
“Like, what? And what else? Her only source of income was that child. For my mother, I was a gift and a blessing. God settled her with me.
And it’s my responsibility to ensure her eternal happiness. She has endured pain on our sake. And you continue to make fun of her.
“Anyway, give up. Don’t make fun of my mom. Why tell lies? She is the world’s greatest woman.
She is. Yes, she is. Yes, she is.
She is. She cautioned me. I was cautioned by my brothers.
“Everyone cautioned me. There won’t be any tears on this camera. Everyone cautioned me.
“I drove out at night after that. If I didn’t marry Ned, I was going to commit suicide. Everyone was trying to find me.
“My brothers were fighting and smashing bottles.” The Nigerian police, for example… Everyone knew, as I mentioned. My family does not want me to marry the love of my life, so I went to the police station and said, “Arrest me.” However, I did fell in love with him. I did, which is absurd.
