Shock Alert: Boko Haram Terrorists Discovered in Nigerian Army Recruitment List – Former Deputy Speaker Sounds Alarm

In a shocking revelation, former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ahmed Idris Wase, disclosed that members of Boko Haram were, at one time, found on Nigeria’s Army recruitment list. Speaking at a special plenary session focused on national security, Wase warned that such breaches have left the country vulnerable to escalating attacks.

Speaking from personal experience, Wase, who lost a brother and a cousin to terrorist attacks, described the emotional toll of insecurity. He revealed that his younger brother even begged for help to escape their community due to the threat posed by armed groups operating freely.

“This is not just about numbers; it’s about lives. Criminals infiltrating our security institutions make it almost impossible to fight these threats,” Wase said. He called for politicians to carefully vet candidates before recommending them for recruitment, emphasizing that integrity and good character must be non-negotiable.

Wase also highlighted that insecurity persists partly because some individuals profit from chaos, allowing criminals to operate in convoys and evade law enforcement. He condemned the politicization of indigeneship and citizenship, arguing that these issues deepen national divides and must be addressed through constitutional reform.

The former Deputy Speaker painted a grim picture of the country’s security reality, citing that N5 billion is reportedly paid in ransom every year and that tens of thousands of lives have been lost to Boko Haram attacks. Wase urged lawmakers to act decisively, stating that Nigeria’s insecurity is far worse than most citizens realize and that a coordinated, thorough response is urgently needed.
