The African Democratic Congress (ADC) is poised for significant political progress ahead of the 2027 general elections, according to former vice president Atiku Abubakar.
Atiku made the announcement in a post uploaded on the social media site 𝕏 on Friday after completing his official registration as a party member on Thursday in Yola, Adamawa.
The former vice president posted pictures of himself getting his ADC membership card and a personalized Waziri 01 jersey, which gave the short occasion more color and meaning.
Despite its brief duration, the registration ceremony reportedly attracted a sizable number of party leaders, prominent members of the community, youth organizations, and devoted followers from all around Adamawa.
Atiku cited ADC’s grassroots regional consolidation as evidence of the party’s expanding national appeal. He said, “Yesterday, the ADC train made a stopover in Jalingo for the unveiling of the Taraba State secretariat of the Coalition Party,” reiterating the continuous national movement.

Earlier on Wednesday, Dele Momodu, the editor of Ovation magazine, pleaded on prominent opposition leaders to establish a strategic partnership with former vice president Atiku Abubakar, characterizing the action as an essential “rescue mission” for Nigeria. Jada
As the main speaker at the end of a week-long event in Jada to commemorate Abubakar’s birthday, Momodu outlined the former vice president’s political career while emphasizing his democratic credentials and nonviolent outlook.
“During the 1993 SDP primary, Atiku stepped down for my adopted father, MKO Abiola,” Momodu stated in a statement released by Abubakar’s media office. Abiola was able to obtain the ticket as a result.
“Atiku is not your typical politician; he has experienced numerous betrayals and consistently chooses patience and peace.
You will never witness Atiku parading thugs around him; he is not an aggressive politician. It is understandable why God has bestowed upon him both commercial success and wonderful health.
“Atiku is pursuing his goals peacefully and with clarity.”
The publisher added that Nigeria’s constitutional law direction has been bolstered by Abubakar’s court fights, which were brought and fought over election results.
Additionally, Momodu cautioned against discouraging excellent leadership during crucial times for the country.
