The All Progressives Congress (APC) in the South West geopolitical zone, alarmed by the increasing number of murders, kidnappings, and other organized crimes in some areas of the country, has urged all parties involved to devise plans and measures that can immediately improve the situation while blaming the development on some enemies both inside and outside the country who did not wish it well.
Following reports of the simultaneous kidnapping of schoolgirls in Kebbi and Niger states, as well as the shooting of some worshippers inside a church in Kwara state, where the assaulting gunmen also carried away over a dozen citizens, tensions in Nigeria increased. All of the kidnapped individuals have been freed and are currently receiving attention from the government.
The APC praised the federal government and the governments of the impacted states for their prompt response and coordinated efforts, which resulted in the timely rescue of all the attack victims from their kidnappers, in a statement released on Thursday and made available to journalists in Ibadan by its South West Zonal Publicity Secretary, Mr. Ayobami Afolabi.
“Violent attacks against some innocent citizens have increased recently, particularly in the country’s north, and the patterns of these reported incidents were similar.” This confirmed the findings of numerous analysts who had demonstrated that both domestic and foreign sponsors of terrorism, banditry, and associated crimes in Nigeria were doing so for political and financial gain.
Every patriotic person must rise to the occasion in both their official and private capacities in order to achieve this. The lives of innocent victims of violent attacks are not worth any individual’s or group’s desired economic or political standing since the situation necessitates cooperation and swift action from those in positions of authority as well as the general public. In order to supplement the work of federal security services, state governors must support and empower community-based security organizations, and citizens should assist with intelligence collecting.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is unquestionably ready to implement his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which would benefit every Nigerian citizen and resident nationwide. We shouldn’t give in to people who don’t want the best for our nation. Sponsors of insecurity and their agents should reconsider in light of the president’s recent declaration of a state of emergency on security and his order for mass recruitment into the Army and Police Force, since all saboteurs will be held accountable. Afolabi continued.
