In the Mashegu Local Government Area of Niger State, the police have detained four alleged kidnappers who are thought to be involved in the kidnapping of ten individuals between the villages of Koso Likoro and Soba.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama posted about the development on X on Friday.
Three guys, identified as Sanda Dan, Mallam Wantau, and Atiku, were apprehended after security personnel tracked the suspects to a hideout near Ibbi Forest, according to the post.
The defendants allegedly confessed during questioning and identified a number of collaborators, including Koso village residents Buba Maiyara, Mantile Alh Majo, and Bilya Musa Baushe.
Makama further stated that Manu Malami Shehu Maiyara was detained by the police during a follow-up operation, and he admitted that his son, Buba Maiyara, and other people had participated in the kidnappings and cattle rustling in the region.
According to sources who spoke to Makama, security officials are still working to dismantle the larger network implicated in the case.
