Abia State Pledges Full Support to Military in Fight Against Insecurity

Dr. Alex Otti, the governor of Abia State, has promised the Nigerian Army the utmost assistance and collaboration in the battle against terrorism.

Speaking as he welcomed Major General Oluremi Fadairo, the recently assigned General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Nigeria Army’s 82 Division, Enugu, to his office, Otti stated that he believes in hard work rather than chance when it comes to handling security-related matters.

Therefore, we think that hard labor is important. We think that security should be given top priority. The governor added, “And we are very happy to have you here.”

He emphasized that his administration will do everything in its power to protect the people and property of Abia.

Otti insisted that any responsible and responsive administration must prioritize security, despite the fact that it is an expensive endeavor.

“We also know that security costs a lot of money, so we spare no effort in ensuring that our people are secure,” he stated.

“I’ve always believed that anything you do won’t matter if security isn’t your top priority.

“No matter how much you invest, no one will patronize it if people can’t sleep with their eyes closed.”

The governor told the military commander that the state will provide him with full cooperation and support and encouraged him to visit every area and battalion in the state.

Major General Fadairo, the General Officer Commanding of the Nigeria Army’s 82 Division and Commander of the South East Joint Task Force Operation Udoka, had previously promised to use his extensive experience from his time as a young officer in the East to stop the rise in crime and insecurity in Abia State and the South East as a whole.

As a result, he asked for the state’s citizens’ collaboration and support, which he believed would significantly reduce the wave of insecurity in the area.

“As a young officer who has served in a variety of positions here, I would like to contribute my extensive expertise in order to help stop the spread of crime and instability throughout Abia State and the entire South East geopolitical region.

“As a young officer, I served here, and I believe I am familiar with every detail of the area. Therefore, I believe that being here is a blessing for the operation,” Fadairo said.

He expressed gratitude to the governor for all of his efforts on behalf of the state’s security services, noting that he had received a thorough briefing of his support.

In a related event, Governor Otti stated that his administration has implemented sufficient security measures throughout the state in preparation for the approaching Christmas season.

Shortly after Governor Alex Otti presided over the monthly Security Council meeting in the Executive Council Chamber, Navy Commander MacDonald Uba (rtd), the governor’s special adviser on security, briefed journalists on behalf of the governor and informed the state’s citizens that the state’s current security structures have been strengthened and that security agencies are on red alert throughout the state.Abia State Pledges Full Support to Military in Fight
