Two Killed, Church Set Ablaze as ISWAP/Boko Haram Raid Chibok Community

On Saturday, ISWAP and Boko Haram terrorists launched a coordinated attack on communities in Chibok Local Government, Borno State, but were thwarted by troops of the 28 Task Force Brigade, Sector 4, Operation Hadin Kai.

According to military sources, the attack occurred early on Saturday. However, soldiers quickly retaliated with superior weaponry, engaging the attackers in a two-hour gunfight that resulted in a retreat toward the infamous Timbuktu Triangle.

In a phone chat with Vanguard, Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume of Borno South, whose electorate includes Chibok, confirmed the breach, claiming to have received a distress call from his local coordinator.

“Troops drove out Boko Haram/ISWAP after they invaded certain areas in Chibok. Sadly, a local church in Kwada village was destroyed and two people were killed, according to Ndume.

Senator Ndume expressed sympathy to the Chibok community as a whole as well as the relatives of the slain.

In addition to urging the military and other security organizations to step up efforts to bring about complete peace in Southern Borno and the entire nation, he prayed for the souls of the departed.

No soldier was killed in the operation, according to another defense source.

“The troops professionally contained the attack while remaining vigilant.” No equipment was impacted, and there were no casualties on our end,” the person stated.

According to sources, during a subsequent air interdiction, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) neutralized many of the escaping fighters.

NAF combat aircraft were immediately sent to the designated retreat axis when ground troops requested air support following the terrorists’ withdrawal.

According to the source, “the NAF jet delivered precise and devastating strikes along the terrorists’ escape route, obliterating a significant number of the fighters and disrupting their movement.”

The reports claim that NAF combat aircraft carried out four significant airstrikes along the terrorists’ route of retreat toward the Timbuktu Triangle. Real-time information from the ground forces of the 28 Task Force Brigade, Sector 4, Operation Hadin Kai, directed the strikes.

According to the individuals who spoke to Vanguard, the initial round of attacks “achieved significant degradation of the hostile elements” by focusing on a group of terrorists who were trying to regroup.

More concentrations of combatants retreating into wooded areas were the target of further strikes.

The sources verified that an unmanned aerial platform carried out additional attacks in addition to the four manned-aircraft strikes.

“The platform engaged with great precision and maintained continuous ISR coverage. According to the sources, “its strikes further eliminated retreating fighters and disrupted their movement pattern.”
