APC Hits Back at ADC: ‘Lagos Is Not a Political Apprenticeship Laboratory’

The African Democratic Congress’s (ADC) vows to seize control of the state have been called a political fantasy by the All Progressives Congress (APC) chapter in Lagos State.

According to reports, Mogaji Seye Oladejo, the state’s APC spokesperson, cautioned the ADC in a statement released on Monday that Lagos State is not for political apprentices and is not up for grabs.

Oladejo emphasized that a party that is unable to organize meaningful ward meetings is suddenly looking for “citizens’ cooperation” in order to seize control of a state that is widely recognized as Nigeria’s model for continuous leadership, innovation, and governance.

According to him, ADC cannot win an election in Lagos State.

“Let me be clear: Lagos is not a laboratory for political apprentices,” he declared. Lagos is not for sale. And Lagos is surely not a charity project for emergency parties seeking significance through ludicrous headlines.

“The ADC’s posturing is nothing more than a ridiculous attempt to use wishful thinking to blow up a political balloon. A party without infrastructure, without ideas, without credible candidates, and without electoral footprints cannot and will not take over a state constructed through decades of vision, continuity, competence, and unsurpassed performance.

“In 2023 and even before then, the ADC struggled to fill a bus stop with its entire membership. The same party is now pledging to overrun a state with over 20 million inhabitants, world-class infrastructure, and the most sophisticated electorate in Nigeria. Political humor should, in fact, have its bounds.

“At its upcoming party meeting, we urge the ADC to first take internal attendance. If they obtain a quorum, perhaps then they might advance to winning councillorship seats before thinking of Alausa.”
