Kola Ologbondiyan, the former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has formally resigned from the party, claiming personal reasons.
Ologbondiyan published a letter dated December 5, 2025, to the Chairman of Okekoko Ward (09), Kabba/Bunu Local Government, Kogi State, in which he formally informed the party of his desire to resign, in a statement posted on 𝕏 on Saturday.
Ologbondiyan stated in the letter marked “Notification of Membership Withdrawal” that he had decided it was time to leave the PDP after giving it some thought.
“It is now necessary to draw your attention to the fact that I have reviewed my involvement in the PDP and have concluded that I must leave for personal reasons,” he said.
“I have therefore come to a decision to formally withdraw my membership of the PDP, henceforth,” he said, emphasizing that his decision to leave the party was final.
Ologbondiyan thanked the party’s leadership for giving him the chance to serve Nigeria and the party despite his resignation. He expressed gratitude to the leadership for giving him responsibilities and trust when he was a member of the PDP.
He began the letter by saying, “Let me begin by thanking you, as well as other levels of leadership in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), for the opportunities provided for me to serve the party and our fatherland, Nigeria.”
