The Africa Democratic Congress (ADC) alliance has decided to cooperate, according to Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) 2023 presidential candidate, and no one is stepping down for him.
According to reports, Peter Obi revealed this on Sunday night during a 𝕏 Space.
Additionally, the former Anambra State governor made it clear that he is not required to formally join the ADC.
Peter Obi claims to have been a part of the coalition since its founding and to have always been a member of the ADC.
Additionally, Obi expressed his unwavering support for Atiku Abubakar, the former vice president.
“I’m not joining ADC,” he declared. I am unable to rejoin what I am already involved in.
“Since day one, I have been a member of the coalition.
In ADC, no one is resigning for me.
“Atiku is still my respected leader, and we have all decided to work together.”
In an interview with Punch, a senior ADC official in Abuja said that followers and allies of Peter Obi had started making plans for his defection.
According to the source, Peter Obi met with David Mark, the National Chairman of the ADC, three weeks ago to reaffirm his commitment to the coalition after the party urged him to decide whether or not to join.
He claimed that the former governor of Anambra State may have finally decided to join the ADC due to the party’s stance.
He claims that on December 31, Peter will organize a declaration rally in Enugu, the South-East’s political capital.
