Former Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh has revealed what could prevent Nigeria from winning the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON title in Morocco.
The former Juventus midfielder spoke on a recent episode of Global Football Insights ahead of Nigeria’s AFCON victory over Uganda on Tuesday evening.
Oliseh said: “What could stop Nigeria from winning the AFCON is if we don’t get our defensive house in order, to make sure that when we score, we don’t concede.
“One chance we have is that we have one of the most potent striking forces in the tournament.”
The last time Nigeria won the AFCON title was in 2013 under the late coach Stephen Keshi.
The Super Eagles defeated Burkina Faso 1–0 in the final in South Africa to claim the title, thanks to Sunday Mba’s solitary goal of the encounter.
