At a lavish reception set for Monday at Sani Abacha Stadium in Kofar Mata, Kano, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is anticipated to formally welcome Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf into the All Progressives Congress.
The event, which party leaders have characterized as a significant political gathering intended to strengthen the ruling party’s power in the North-West, is also expected to include numerous APC governors and Vice President Kashim Shettima.
Abdullahi Abbas, the chairman of the Kano State APC, stated that Yusuf would be formally and symbolically welcomed into the party during the reception.
In Kano, which is considered to be one of Nigeria’s most strategically important political strongholds, he called the development a major turning point for the APC.
He claims that in order to guarantee a flawless event, a great deal of preparation has been completed.
Abbas revealed that a number of committees had been established to plan the event’s logistics, security, and mobilization.
The Director-General of Special Services will serve as secretary to a 15-member Security Committee, which will be led by Col. Umar Malami.
The stadium’s facilities will be managed by a 16-member Venue Committee, which is led by Hon. Bala Mohd Gwagwarwa and has Umar Abdullahi Ganduje as its secretary.
A 15-member Publicity Committee led by Hon. Muhammad Garba would be in charge of media relations and public involvement.
Medical and emergency services will also be coordinated by the Health Emergency and Sanitation Committee, which is headed by Dr. Abubakar Labaran.
The Protocol Committee, led by Hon. Abdullahi Rogo, is responsible for overseeing the reception procedures for the dignitaries that are anticipated to attend the event.
The party has established a 20-member Mobilization Committee, led by Hon. Mohd Bello Butu-Butu, to guarantee widespread involvement.
