Oluwole Osaze-Uzzi, a former director of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), thinks the N873 billion proposed budget for the Commission in 2027 is not excessive.
In an appearance with Politics Today on Channels Television on Thursday, Osaze-Uzzi stated as much.
A budget of N873.78 billion was reportedly put forth by INEC for the upcoming general elections in 2027.
Osaze-Uzzi responded, saying, “I don’t think there has been an exponential growth in what is being offered to the Assembly now when we go back at the budget for the 2023 elections.
“I anticipate that the National Assembly will examine it carefully, consider the inflation rate, and examine the breakdown to make sure that resources are being used and allocated effectively.
“Hopefully, the logistics will work out perfectly. Appropriate funding for commerce, logistics, and system technical advancements. Each of these needs to be taken into account.
