‘Nigerians Still Support Me, Will Vote Massively If I Run for President’ – Wike

Many Nigerians still adore him, according to Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike.

Wike reportedly revealed this to a few journalists during a media chat on Monday.

The former governor of Rivers State expressed hope that if he runs for president, Nigerians will overwhelmingly support him.

The Wike emphasized that he can readily relate to regular Nigerians and that his accomplishments in the FCT and Rivers State will always speak for him.

Wike added that he was confident his followers would prevail even if the nation’s capital’s just ended council election were to be held again.

“Nigerians still adore me, and they will give me a resounding vote if I run for president,” he stated.

In the meantime, Wike has defended the curfew’s implementation ahead of Abuja’s area council elections on February 21, claiming that it was within his authority and that President Bola Tinubu had given his approval.

Wike insisted that he had the power to make security decisions, including limiting movement, because he was the “governor of the FCT.”

In response to criticism, Wike stated that the restriction on human and vehicle mobility from 8 p.m. on Friday to 6 p.m. on Saturday was solely for security reasons.
