Akpabio Leads Senate Colleagues in Condolence Visit to Late Senator Mpigi’s Family

On Monday, a group of senators led by Senate President Godswill Akpabio visited the family of late Senator Barinada Mpigi, who died in a London hospital last week.
In the National Assembly, Senator Mpigi represented the residents of the Rivers South East Senatorial District.

During the visit, Akpabio described Senator Mpigi’s death as a painful loss to the National Assembly and the nation at large, expressing deep sorrow and sadness over the passing of the former lawmaker. He emphasized Mpigi’s commitment to public service, pointing out that he made a significant contribution to the creation of laws and the growth of the country.

“Senator Mpigi was a committed public servant who made significant contributions to the advancement of legislation and the development of the country. His dedication to serving others and his commitment to the well-being of his constituency will never be forgotten, according to Akpabio.

The Senate President encouraged the grieving family to find comfort in the significant life their father led and added that Mpigi’s legacy would continue to inspire future generations of leaders. He reassured them that their sorrow is shared by the whole National Assembly and the Senate.
