Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, a seasoned Nollywood actress, revealed how she once went to a dangerous neighborhood in Mushin, Lagos State, to look for money to assist pay her brother’s tuition.
During an interview on The Afropolitan Show, the actress reportedly discussed the incident and clarified that she was just 15 years old at the time.
She claims that she was brought to the region by a film industry colleague to meet several men who were well-known for making loans.
Before arriving at the location where the men were waiting, Omotola clarified, they had to navigate a challenging area.
According to her, the individuals were regarded as violent and had a reputation for handling loans in the community.
She recalled that her brother needed to pay his school fees, so she begged them for financial assistance when she got there.
The actress claimed that because she was young and surrounded by males who were known to cause problems, the setting was terrifying. Although she acknowledged that the encounter may have gone wrong, she feels safe and unharmed.
“There was also a time when an industry colleague took me to some place in Mushin, some ghetto place,” she stated. We strolled across this difficult area. At the time, I was around fifteen. When we arrived at this location, these terrible boys were in a sitting room. I pleaded with them, saying that I needed money to pay my brother’s tuition. This man may have raped me based on the way he stared at me.
The actress claimed that in the end, the men consented to give her the money she asked for. When it came time to pay back the debt, though, she encountered difficulties.
She said that she couldn’t give the money back as promised. This caused conflict with the bankers, who started threatening her due to the outstanding amount.
She clarified that the men went to her house to confront her family when the problem got there. In an attempt to get the money they thought they were due, they removed a few things from the house during that visit, including the family’s TV and DVD player.
