IGP Disu Decorates Newly Promoted Deputy Inspectors General of Police

The recently promoted Deputy Inspectors-General Police have been decorated by Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Olatunji Rilwan Disu.

According to the IGP, the event signified the taking on of even more leadership and strategic management duties for the Nigeria Police Force.

He explained that their promotion was evidence of their professionalism, ability to lead, and continuous dedication to the country.

“A promotion to the rank of Deputy Inspector-General of Police represents one of the highest levels of professional trust within our institution,” he added, speaking to the officers.

You have been given duties beyond operational command as members of the Nigeria Police Force’s top strategic leadership.

“You are expected to provide institutional guidance, bolster internal discipline, spearhead reforms, and make sure that our policing tactics continue to adapt to our country’s changing security environment.

“The complexity of the security environment in which we operate keeps changing.” Expectations for the Nigeria Police Force have never been higher, ranging from organized crime and cyber-enabled threats to violent criminal networks and new security issues.

Therefore, it is essential that our leadership continue to be strategic, forward-thinking, and steadfastly dedicated to operational excellence and professionalism.

“I charge you to apply your extensive experience in bolstering intelligence-led policing, expanding interagency cooperation, improving command-to-command operational coordination, and bolstering accountability within the ranks.
