Peter Obi Is Fantastic, But Not Yet Ready for Presidency – Dino Melaye

According to former Kogi West Senator Dino Melaye, Peter Obi, a previous presidential candidate, is not ready to take office.

During an interview on Channels Television on Thursday, he made the statement.

Melaye added that although Obi is a brilliant man, he lacks the necessary skills to bring Nigeria together.

However, I must say that Peter Obi is an amazing Nigerian. He is an amazing person, and I have a lot of respect for him, but this is not his moment to be president,” Melaye remarked.

Remember that Dino Melaye ran for governor of Kogi State on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after leaving the National Assembly, but he was defeated by Ahmed Ododo, the current governor.

Melaye, meanwhile, has made fun of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for opposing the electronic broadcast of election results in real time, calling the party’s position a sign of fear and insecurity despite its political domination.

According to reports, Melaye remarked in a comment on his 𝕏 (previously Twitter) account on Tuesday said it was odd that a party controlling 31 states would oppose changes that advance election transparency.

“APC allows members to register online, but it does not want results to be transmitted electronically. They still dread despite having 31 governors, he wrote.

The former senator warned that the ruling party would inevitably collapse internally and accused the APC of undermining electoral reforms in the Electoral Act Amendment Bill.

“Explosion is certain, and implosion is on the horizon.” The end of the road. “Votes must be counted,” Melaye said.

Melaye’s remarks coincide with huge demonstrations in Abuja and on social media regarding the Senate’s decision to remove the section of the revised Electoral Act that required real-time electronic transmission of election results.

The elimination of the clause, according to civil society organizations, opposition leaders, youth groups, and pro-democracy campaigners, compromises democratic integrity and allows for post-election manipulation.
