According to the source, the patrol squad made touch with the escaping suspect on March 23, 2026, at around 1400 hours.

According to Makama, preliminary investigation identified the neutralized individual as a notorious terrorist involved in providing intelligence and targets for kidnappings, as well as cattle rustling and supplying logs to terrorist groups.

According to the source, “the military has reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining aggressive patrols and intelligence-led operations to curb criminal activities and protect residents in the area.”

It was mentioned that Kogi State has recently turned into a hotbed of banditry activity, resulting in the kidnapping of numerous locals and the deaths of others.
