2027: Bala Disqualifies ADC Aspirants Above 55 Years

Nafiu Bala Gombe, the factional National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has said that people over the age of 55 will not be able to run for political office under his leadership.

Gombe made the announcement during an interview with BBC Hausa, where he talked about his vision for generational change and getting more young people involved in politics.

“The African Democratic Congress (ADC) is a party that all Nigerians can join. What we are doing now is making sure the party moves forward in the right way.

“We have made the decision to give the young people a real chance. It’s time for young people to take charge of politics.

“We will not let anyone over 55 run for positions in the ADC under our leadership.

“We want to bring in new people, new ideas, and energy from young people.” The young people of Nigeria hold the key to the country’s future.

“The old ways have not worked well for the country.” He said, “We need to make it easy for young people to run for office, lead, and make decisions.”
