Labour Party Crisis Started After Peter Obi, Alex Otti Visited Umuahia – Julius Abure

Julius Abure, the Labour Party’s Factional National Chairman, has said that the party’s former presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and the governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, are to blame for the party’s problems.

Abure said this on Arise Television on Wednesday.

He said that the party’s problems began when Peter Obi and Otti went to Umuahia to form a caretaker committee.

“I want to be very clear that Peter Obi and Alex Otti caused the party’s problems. The party was sailing smoothly and doing its job as the opposition while I was in charge. The party’s problems really started when Peter Obi and Alex Otti went to Umuahia to form a caretaker committee. I didn’t make that. I didn’t make the crisis happen. I brought the party together and helped it grow. I built the party from the ground up. Peter Obi joined the party because of the leadership we showed. So, Alex Otti and Peter Obi went to Umuahia and started a group within the party. That’s where we are now. “Now you can see that he has become a rolling stone that is hard to gather moss,” he said.

Abure said that he got a new mandate before the deadline, even though people said his time as leader ended in 2024.

“The tenure didn’t end. The term was set to end on June 9, 2024. “And before the end of the term, on March 27, 2024, a new national convention was held, and the current leadership came out of it,” he said.
