Bolaji Abdullahi, the National Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), had warned that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) was planning to disrupt a summit that was supposed to take place in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Saturday.
The spokesperson for the opposition coalition said in a statement on Saturday morning that after being denied access to venues in Abuja, people were now trying to stop their gathering in Ibadan.
He said that this change is part of a pattern of interference meant to weaken opposition activities.
Abdullahi also called the ruling party hypocritical, saying that even though it says it isn’t afraid, its actions show that it is.
The ADC Spokesman said that the summit would still happen, even though there was a supposed plot.
