Tiwa Savage: I Was Criticized for Speaking Out Against Insecurity

Tiwa Savage, the Afrobeats singer, has responded to a fan who asked her to talk more about the insecurity situation in Nigeria.

It was reported that the conversation began after a follower commented on her Instagram promotional post, saying she should use her influence to draw attention to rising insecurity and other national problems.

The fan believed her voice could raise awareness and affect change.

In her response, Tiwa Savage said she has spoken about such issues in the past but was heavily criticised for doing so.

“A lot of things I do don’t always get posted on social media,” the songstress explained. “I’m still supporting in ways that people don’t see on social media.

“I don’t feel the need to show every step I take publicly,” she added, noting that her motives and actions are not dependent on the approval of others.

She said she also believes God sees her actions even if others can’t.

When I spoke I was crucified for it but trust me that won’t stop me from still being active. Just know that just because you might not see my post about it does not mean I am not doing anything . I just don’t have to validate my actions, God sees. “May God help us and guide us all with the right wisdom to overcome this tragedy,” she wrote.
