USMAN Alkali Baba has been confirmed as the Inspector-General of Police.
The confirmation took place at Police Council meeting presided over by President Buhari today.
Minister of Police Affairs, Maigari Dingyadi, at the end of their meeting said Baba was unanimously confirmed.
Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo was also present at the meeting which was held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Also in attendance was Chairman of the Governors’ Forum, Kayode Fayemi, Chief of Staff, Ibrahim Gambari and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha.
Others present include; Interior minister Rauf Aregbesola, Police Service Commission chairman, Musiliu Smith and FCT minister Muhammed Bello.
President Buhari had on April 6 appointed Usman Baba as acting police boss.
Baba was a deputy inspector-general of police before his promotion.
