Super Eagles goalkeeper Francis Uzoho has switched clubs from across town in Cyprus.
The 22-year-old cancelled his contract with APOEL Nicosia on Tuesday and joined their city rivals Omonia Nicosia on Wednesday.
“Omonia has reached agreement to sign Nigerian international goalkeeper, Francis Ouzoho, who played for APOEL last season,” Omonia announced on Wednesday.
“The cooperation contract is for a period of three years.”
Uzoho made 23 appearances for APOEL last season in all competitions, but did not feature in the UEFA Europa League qualifying rounds, and his contract was terminated by mutual consent to make him a free agent.
The 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup winner with the Golden Eaglets has also played for Anorthosis in Cyprus and Deportivo La Coruna in Spain in a short but eventful career.
Uzoho made his Super Eagles debut in November 2017 and has 17 caps, including three at the Russia 2018 World Cup.
He is currently in the Super Eagles squad for September’s two Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Liberia and Cape Verde.
