Buhari departs to Dubai after receiving Ramaphosa

President Muhammadu Buhari this afternoon left the country for Dubai, UAE following a meeting with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa in the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

A statement by the president’s spokesman Femi Adesina said Buhari will be participating in the EXPO 2020 Dubai.

The event, Adesina said, creates the environment for Nigeria to join over 190 countries to forge true and meaningful partnerships “to build a better future for everyone”.

Asides touring the Nigerian Pavilion at the Expo on Friday, the president will also receive in audience prospective investors as well as meet with Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and ruler of the Emirate of Dubai.

On the president’s entourage are the minister of foreign affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama; minister of industry, trade and investment, Adeniyi Adebayo; minister of finance, budget and national planning, Zainab Ahmed; minister of defence, Maj.-Gen. Bashir Magashi (retd); minister of aviation, Hadi Sirika; and minister of agriculture and rural development Mohammad Abubakar.

Others are minister of health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire; minister of communications and digital economy, Isa Pantami; minister of mines and steel development, Olamilekan Adegbite; minister of state, industry, trade and investment, Maryam Katagum; national security adviser , Maj.-Gen. Babagana Monguno (retd); director-general of the National Intelligence Agency, Ahmed Rufai Abubakar; and the chairman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa.

Buhari will be back in Abuja on December 5, 2021.
