Chukwuka Monye addresses women, youths during courtesy visit on Esu Karu

A renowned business development strategist, Mr. Chukwuka Monye has enjoined women and youths all over Nigeria to be actively involved in the leadership selection and election processes.

Mr. Monye spoke in Karu town in Karu local government area of Nasarawa state shortly after paying homage on the paramount ruler of Karu Chiefdom, His Royal Highness, Pharm. Luka Panya Baba, during which he appreciated the traditional ruler for the great efforts made in bringing development to the area as well as hosting different ethnic nationalities in his domain.

In his response, the Esu Karu appreciated the august visitor and emphasized for all to live harmoniously with one another irrespective of religion, tribal and other considerations.

Our correspondent reports that, addressing the mammoth crowd at an event organised by Agcare Foundation in collaboration with Afiniki Danladi Cheshi Foundation which was facilitated by United Karu Youth Development Foundation, Mr. Monye reiterated the need for women and youths to channel their energies into political processes.

He insisted that the involvement of those critical stakeholders is a sure way to make for good governance and comprehensive national development.

While expressing appreciation for the honour done to him by providing the opportunity to talk to them, he pointed out that the subject of nation-building should be dear to all people who need not complain but stand up and do alot that could change the situation of their existence for the better.

He enjoined all those who gathered at the event to ensure that they do away with the mentality of ‘they will not give it to us’ but consciously elect those who are genuinely interested in them.

He stated that women are very important, resilient, powerful and good resource managers while the next critical groups of people are the youths who should be tired of been referred to as ‘leaders of tomorrow’.

Mr. Monyie equally enjoined the gathering to ensure that something urgent and responsible is done instead of talking and complaining about situation of things maintaining that they should do everything possible to change or improve their immediate communities.

According to him, “the second aspect is to get deeply involved in the process of selecting or electing the leaders and therefore encouraged all youths to get involved from councillorship all the way to the presidency”.

He used the platform to call on all to be actively involved in changing the situation of things in Nigeria pointing out that, he has made his own decision and it is to get involved as such.

The economic strategist appreciated the host community for the hospitality displayed to him and promised to remain in touch with them.

Earlier in his introductory remarks, Mr. Danladi Nuhu Cheshi, an indigene of the town said, Mr. Monye has come to identify with them and also, in due course, pass an important message which will have a national dimension.

Mr. Nuhu prayed for unity of purpose in the course of achieving any laudable task noting that with all hands on the deck, Nigeria would certainly be a better place for all to live in.
