A train which was said to be few minutes from its destination in Abuja has derailed.
TNN reports that the incident occurred on Friday evening close to the train station in the Kubwa area of the federal capital territory (FCT).

It is, however, not clear if there are casualties from the incident.
Our correspondent, who was at the scene of the incident, spoke to some residents of the area, who said they were “thankful to God that it was not on the highway”.
This comes less than a week after an Itakpe-Warri train derailed in a Kogi forest though the 143 passengers were safely evacuated.
