Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, Wednesday hosted the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in Government House, Port Harcourt.
The APC candidate was in the state for the continuation of his nationwide presidential campaign rally.
Wike is the leader of the aggrieved Peoples Democratic Party’s G-5 governors who are at loggerheads with the leadership of the party and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
While Atiku canceled his campaign in Rivers after a series of controversies, Tinubu got the campaign venue free of charge, according to reports.
Sources said Wike held a meeting with Tinubu abroad to perfect the 2023 election strategies, but both sides denied the report.
Meanwhile, former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, was absent at Tinubu’s campaign rally in Rivers.
Amaechi, who is the APC leader in the state, came second in the APC Presidential Primaries won by Tinubu.
