The governor-elect of Abia State, Alex Otti has declared Mr. Peter Obi as “my President in waiting”.
Obi was the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the just concluded presidential election which was won by Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The LP presidential candidate had taken to social media platform, Twitter to congratulate Otti who was the party’s governorship flag bearer for winning the Abia State election.
He wrote, “A while ago, I spoke with my brother, Dr. Alex Otti @alexottiofr, the Governor-elect of Abia State and heartily congratulated him on his election. I am gratified that the will and wish freely expressed by the Abia electorates have been respected.
“I pray for God’s guidance and protection for the incoming Governor of God’s Own State. -PO.”
In his response, Otti said, “Thank you very much for your kind words and prayers my President in waiting.”
He has however deleted the tweet.
Obi is challenging Tinubu’s victory in court on grounds that the former Lagos State was not qualified for running for an election in Nigeria haven fortieth his funds to the US government over a drug trafficking allegation.
